During my recent cycling expedition through Valparaíso, I found myself at the good Hostal Miramar, a charming hotel that encapsulates the spirit of the region. Nestled in the quiet neighbourhood of Cerro Playa Ancha, the hostal offers both spacious rooms and a lovely patio adorned with vibrant flowers, providing a serene retreat after a day of exploration. The welcoming nature of Mario, the host, made my stay all the more enjoyable; he was exceedingly attentive and ensured that my needs were met with amazing hospitality. The daily breakfasts, featuring homemade jams, were a quaint touch that reminded me of traditional Polish breakfasts I enjoyed during my travels in similar historical locales. A highlight was certainly the location: a short 30-minute stroll along el Paseo 21 de Mayo leads to the city centre, where significant landmarks await, including the Naval Museum and the famous Elias Figueroa Stadium—both just moments away. I wholeheartedly recommend Hostal Miramar to anyone seeking a blend of comfort, friendly service, and a glimpse into the cultural heart of Valparaíso. When the opportunity arises, I will undoubtedly return for another adventure.
